Leaving NYC Behind - The Journey into the WEST Begins
In late August, I departed New York City for the western part of North America where i spent the next 6 weeks backpacking with grizzlies, camping on mountain tops, and exploring the mystery of bigfoot in what would become the greatest adventure of my life. This is episode ONE from my "Six Weeks Out West" series where I leave maggie and my life behind in New York City and head WEST to YELLOWSTONE on the first stop of this epic adventure! My six weeks out west was the greatest of my life, with nonstop backpacking action, wildlife encounters, and bigfoot expeditions. This is the first of 7 episodes thatll showcase various segments of the journey in chronological order. In this episode, I travel to Yellowstone where i drive around looking for wildlife before finally spending the night at Lewis Lake Campground near the south boundary of the park. I camped here because the following day, I would set out on a 6 day solo backpack in the snake river section of Yellowstone, which will be my next video following this one. Exploring Yellowstone is one of my absolute favorite things to do in the entire world. You NEVER know what you might see by just driving around the national park. Grizzlies, wolves, elk, bison, moose and more are all possibilites! ALSO. Teddy Roosevelt was only 13 years old when Yellowstone was created in 1872, signed into law by Ulysses S. Grant. Roosevelt DID become one of its greatest protectors and champions once he became president. Roosevelt also dramatically expanded federal protection for wildlife and natural lands. He also created the U.S. Forest Service, 5 national parks, and 150 national forests. So I wanted to clear that up...as much as he was a champion of Yellowstone, he did NOT sign its protection into law. Join me on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/MikeWanders?u...
