A Beautiful Shrine Building　　美しい社殿

"Nara, Japan" I travel quietly through the forgotten corners of Japan—places so small on the map that they rarely catch anyone’s eye—and capture them through my lens. Mountain hamlets where the presence of people has long faded, buildings left behind by time, and spaces where only the sound of wind through the grass and trees remains. In these places, traces of lives once lived—of laughter, daily routines, and quiet existence—still linger, faint but undeniable. They may lack brightness or liveliness, yet in their place exists a silence beyond words, and an air tinged with a deep sense of nostalgia. Within what is decaying and being forgotten, I feel the weight of time, as if fragments of human memory are gently seeping through. Drawn to such landscapes, I carefully capture each moment. Not merely to show others, but to preserve the fleeting “now” before it disappears—guided by that quiet urge, I press the shutter. In these overlooked corners of Japan, countless small stories remain.
