Elaine “Daisy D. Dots” Vercellone is a professional clown, educator, and founder of The Smile Factory Theater Co. in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Since becoming a professional clown in 1987, she has dedicated nearly four decades to spreading joy through performances, teaching, hospital visits, senior centers, parties, and charitable work around the world. In 2018, she was named “Clown of the Year,” recognizing her lifelong commitment to the art of clowning and community service. Through The Smile Factory Hospital Caring Clown School, Vercellone continues to train new generations of caring clowns, using humor, storytelling, improv, magic, and compassion to bring comfort and confidence to others.
