In September 2025, Fortis will release several new Stratoliner models – one of which is called the Stratoliner Reentry Edition. To clarify: Anyone who wants to fly into space should also consider how they will return to Earth. Therefore, so-called reentry technology has been an important field of research since the beginning of space travel. The main focus is on how space capsules can withstand the high temperatures generated when flying through the atmosphere. When a capsule encounters the dense layers of air at high speed – several thousand kilometers per hour – and is thereby decelerated, extremely high temperatures are generated: over 2,000 degrees Celsius can occur. The new Stratoliner Reentry Edition – as the name suggests – is inspired by precisely this. Each individual dial is crafted by hand: First, the titanium is rolled under high pressure to create a dense and robust surface. Then, it is specifically heated with an open flame in the upper left area. The titanium reacts to the fire with a unique color gradient – ​​glowing copper, metallic violet, blue shadows, and occasionally visible burn marks make each dial unique...
