Construction of the new highway bridge across the Irtysh River in Pavlodar is currently progressing quite rapidly, and the structure has already noticeably changed its appearance compared to last year. This is one of the largest infrastructure projects in the region—the new bridge is being built next to the old one, which has long been considered problematic and has restrictions for truck traffic. What has already been accomplished According to the latest data: The main bridge supports have been erected. The superstructure assembly is actively underway. Large span sections have already been installed in several areas. Approximately 280-300 people and nearly 90 pieces of equipment are working on the site simultaneously. Construction is currently underway on several supports simultaneously. Construction of the channel section—the one that crosses the Irtysh—has made particularly significant progress. Approximately 276 meters of superstructure have already been laid. According to the current schedule: they plan to fully connect the spans between the banks in September 2026; asphalt laying will begin in October; Landscaping and utility systems will begin in November; they plan to open to traffic in December 2026. After the new bridge is completed, the old bridge across the Irtysh is planned to be dismantled.
