Mining laws in South Africa still a challenge to the impoverished community of Heuningvlei. The Northern Cape-based community wants to permanently mine salt in their area. Just 70 kilometres outside Kuruman, the community has a salt pan, but now they have to go an extra mile to seek a permit to mine. The struggling community's dream is to use the mine to generate jobs.
