Today we’re back working on the 396 engine, trying to finish off the custom cowl induction air cleaner… but things don’t exactly go according to plan. After attempting to make our own 396 Turbo-Jet decals using an inkjet printer and bare metal foil, we quickly discover the limits of homemade decals on metallic surfaces. Luckily, the research department — and the comment section — come through with a better solution. Unfortunately the homemade decals just weren’t opaque enough over the foil surface, so now we’re pivoting to factory decals to hopefully get a cleaner and more realistic final result. And of course… now we also have a twisted chassis to fight with.
