Is Hideaway Beach at CocoCay Worth the Upgrade? Our Honest Review

We have been to CocoCay plenty of times and never paid for Hideaway Beach. On this sailing on Freedom of the Seas we finally decided to try it, mainly to find out once and for all whether the adults-only upgrade is actually worth it or just another upsell. The honest answer is that it delivered exactly what it promises. The second you walk in the atmosphere changes. It is quieter, more spacious, and has a beach club feel rather than a busy cruise island stop. We spent most of the day between the pool and the beach and the biggest difference was the space. No fighting for a lounger, no squeezing in next to other groups, just actually being able to relax. The swim-up bar adds a lot to the experience, service was noticeably quicker, and the food was a solid step up on what you get elsewhere on the island. Nothing crazy premium but enough to feel like a proper upgrade. That said, we would not say it is a must-do every single time. We have had brilliant days at CocoCay without spending a penny, using quieter spots like Cove Beach and Oasis Lagoon. Hideaway Beach is more of a treat yourself option or a change of pace, rather than something you need to book on every visit.
