First Solo Cross Country to Brustem
On the 20th of April 2026 I had my first cross-country solo from Genk Zwartberg to St.-Truiden Brustem. That's a former military airfield with a very long and very broad runway originaly designed to welcome the AWACS airplanes. It was never used for that purpose. Now it's primarily used for GA. For pilots of small Single Engine Piston (SEP) planes it's a challenge because half of the runway cannot be used. So they easily misjudge speed and height.
