Does the 992.2 GT3 Need an Aftermarket Exhaust? | Dyno Test Stock vs Dundon

Does the 992.2 GT3 really need an aftermarket exhaust or is the stock system “good enough”? This dyno test might change your mind. The 992.2 GT3 is everything Porsche promised: sharp, fast, confidence-inspiring. But like a lot of GT cars, there's more to be had, specifically in the power and sound department. Things like a sharper response, a car that pulls harder, and the kind of sound that makes every shift feel like a moment. So, we were faced with a simple test: “How much power has been left on the table… or is this as good as it gets?” To answer that honestly, we did what we always do: put the car on our in-house dyno, test the car and look at real data. First, we ran the 992.2 GT3 completely stock. We wanted a clean baseline and we also wanted to see what Porsche changed compared to the 992.1: — The 992.2 has two additional OPFs compared to the 992.1 (particulate filters) — This led to significantly different torque numbers — Gearing ratio changes Then we installed our Dundon 992 GT3 Complete Exhaust Package with a Lifetime muffler and Street Headers and put the car back on the dyno under the same conditions. The result? This 992.2 didn’t just wake up, it showed us that the 992.2 may actually have even more to gain from a proper exhaust than the 992.1. The curve tells the story: stronger power across the rev range, better pull to redline, and the sound to match what the car looks like it should do. A quick note for anyone new to dynos: A dyno is basically a treadmill for cars. It lets us measure power at the wheels in a controlled, repeatable way so we can see exactly what changed when we swap parts. There are different types of dynos, different ways to set them up, and a lot of nuance in how to read the graphs—that’s a whole video on its own. In this one, we keep it simple: same car, same conditions, same dyno… stock vs Dundon exhaust. In this video you’ll see: — A Gentian Blue 992.2 GT3 on our in-house dyno — Stock baseline pulls and what the factory setup actually makes at the wheels — Back-to-back comparisons after installing the Dundon complete exhaust package — How the power curve changes, not just peak numbers — Why the extra filters and changes on the 992.2 make a quality exhaust upgrade even more important 00:00 Introduction 00:12 Today’s plan: stock dyno → Dundon full system → dyno again 01:04 In the dyno cell 02:24 992.2 vs 992.1 baseline + wheel HP vs crank HP 02:43 Manual gearing update: final drive differences (4.30) 03:06 Stock numbers breakdown (HP + torque) 04:30 Power curve overlays: 992.2 vs 992.1 vs GT3 RS 08:02 Next up: after-install pulls with the Dundon system 09:44 Dyno recap with the full Dundon exhaust system 10:10 Max gains explained (up to ~30–31 WHP) + wrap-up If you’re a 992.2 GT3 owner wondering whether an exhaust is “worth it,” this is the data you’ve been looking for. 992 GT3 Street Header Complete Exhaust Package (non-EU): https://www.dundonmotorsports.com/pro...
