The 1982 Falklands War not only represented a military confrontation between Argentina and the United Kingdom, but also an opportunity for various Latin American countries to demonstrate their position on the conflict. In this context, Peru played a unique role by providing concrete and risky support to Argentina, despite not being directly involved. This support, which included weapons, pilots, and diplomatic maneuvers, would later contrast with a bitter betrayal: years later, Argentina would sell arms to Ecuador during the Cenépa War of 1995, in the midst of a confrontation with Peru, its former ally.
