Nyinyi Mumezoea Sana Ku-Disobey Court Orders - Hussein Khalid on the Suspension of Curfew in Lamu

For 12 years, the people of Lamu, parts of Tana River and Garissa lived under restrictions that limited movement, hurt businesses, disrupted livelihoods, and denied communities the dignity and freedom guaranteed by the Constitution. Today, communities, human rights defenders, and leaders continue to stand firm in demanding full compliance with the High Court orders suspending the enforcement of the night curfew. No one is above the law. Court orders must be obeyed. Freedom of movement, worship, trade, and access to emergency services are constitutional rights — not privileges. We remain vigilant and ready to pursue legal action against any unlawful attempts to defy the court’s directive.
