Slapstick Rediscovered: Trumptonshire Tales / Phill Jupitus and Brian Cant in conversation

Recorded in 2007, this rare film from the Slapstick archive captures "Trumptonshire Tales", a live stage event celebrating the beloved world of Camberwick Green, Trumpton and Chigley. The evening featured the legendary Brian Cant in conversation with comedian, broadcaster and lifelong Trumptonshire enthusiast Phill Jupitus, sharing memories, stories and reflections on one of Britain's most cherished children's television creations. The event was introduced by Peter Lord, co-founder of Aardman Animations, and this surviving footage was filmed during the original tour which began as this one off event in Bristol, followed by a one-off event in London (With Animator Bob Bura ) and subsequently the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2007. This upload comes from a recently rediscovered MiniDV master and is presented largely as originally recorded. The footage is an unedited rough camera cut assembled by BAFTA Award-winning film editor Don Fairservice. Due to copyright restrictions, extracts from the original Trumptonshire programmes have been removed, leaving the conversation and reminiscences intact.
