Valladolid/Palencia - Tapas and Wine in the Northern Capitals

Some people may have heard of Valladolid, but it’s way down on the list of ‘cities to visit’ in Spain - always losing out to higher tier tourist hubs like Seville, Granada, San Sebastián and Valencia. But, as well as being briefly the capital of Spain, it is a gorgeous and elegant city in its own right and the capital of Castilla y Leon. If Valladolid is under-visited, then Palencia is simply not visited. A small, northern and remote provincial capital. As always, Laura and I eat and drink our way around these lovely cities, visit wineries, are shown around the oldest church in Spain and also take a peek at the highest statue of Jesus in the country!
