Every time you want to declutter, you hesitate at the last minute, and while decluttering, you reminisce, only to put everything back exactly as it was. Huang Hui-ru, author of *Slow Aging*, understands this pain of decluttering, so she proposed the concept of "slow decluttering": declutter slowly, discard slowly. To increase your success rate, start with items you "think you can just throw away." If you can't bring yourself to do it, prepare a "maybe box" and put in items you're still undecided about. After a while, if you still don't need them, then boldly let them go. Not only that, but tens of thousands of photos on your phone, hundreds of emails, and other digital clutter can all be added to the slow decluttering list. Space is for people to live in, not for things to live in. Tidying up isn't difficult; just make good use of spare moments—even 15 minutes at a time can make a space clean.
