SOGIE and Experiences of Domestic Violence and Bullying Among Filipino Adolescents

Adolescents of diverse SOGIE face particular vulnerabilities to violence and bullying, calling for inclusive and evidence-based approaches. This was shared by Mr. Aaron Carlos Manuel, Technical Specialist at the Philippine Institute for Development Studies, during “Ugnayan: The Journey of Filipino Adolescents Across Past, Present, and Future” held on June 17, 2026, which featured insights from the Longitudinal Cohort Study on the Filipino Child (LCSFC) and examined how early-life conditions shape adolescent well-being and future trajectories. The LCSFC is UNFPA Philippines’ flagship longitudinal research initiative in the Philippines, supported by the Australian Government and UNICEF, and implemented by a consortium of demographic research institutions led by the USC-Office of Population Studies Foundation, Inc.
