Moon on the Ocean title song of Kirk MacGeachy's solo album was written and composed by Kirk MacGeachy with help on the lyrics by Keith Adams and published in 2001. Kirk was the Founder and singer songwriter of the Montreal Celtic Band Orealis. Orealis was one of Canada's prominent Celtic bands. They once backed the Pogues. His untimely death sadly cut the band inevitable rise on the North America scene. His hauntingly beautiful voice, like moonlight on water, can't but help move you. Kirk, along with the Gossage Brothers produced a number of albums, and played regularly in Montreal and at festivals across Canada. He is sadly missed.
