4 Jaw Chuck Centering on a Lathe (Jet BD-920W)
This video shows a simple method for centering a workpiece in a 4 jaw chuck. At first a 4 jaw chuck may seem intimidating, but with this simple procedure you can center stock more accurately than with a 3 jaw chuck (most 3 jaw chucks will clamp stock a little off center unless you are lucky). This lets you remove and re-insert parts without worrying about whether they are centered for subsequent turning operations.
