I've decided to make a video (after long break) with the left over footage, for the beautiful places you can visit around Troyan, Bulgaria. Shot on DJI Mavic Pro Places: "Sostra" was a stronghold of a military cohort of about 1000 people and an important military unit on the ancient road Eskus - Philipopolis. Besides the fortress, parts of which are visible today, Sostra was actually a big roadside complex including a village situated outside of the fortress walls. Construction of the fortress began in 147, by a order of Emperor Antoninus Pius, and during its existence has been repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt again. The castle finished its existence in the V century. The Monastery of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God (Bulgarian: Троянски манастир „Успение Богородично“) or, as it is more commonly called, the Troyan Monastery is the third largest monastery in Bulgaria. It is located in the northern part of the country in the Balkan mountains and was founded no later than the end of the 16th century. Beklemeto Pass or Troyan Pass ( Bulgarian: Троянски проход) is a mountain pass in the Bulgarian Balkan Mountains at 1520 meters above sea level. On one of the peaks near the pass there is a monument named "Arc of Liberty", dedicated to the victory of the Russian army in January 1878 capturing the pass, leading to the liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman regime. The monument also commemorates the Bulgarian - Russian unity following World War II.
