Peruvians take huge pride in their ancestry and the culture of the Incas is still widely celebrated to this day. There is no better example of Inca tradition than the annual Festival of the Sun, or the Inti Raymi. Cusco-native and expert guide, Fabricio Ortiz, tells us about the famous celebration of Inti Raymi in this mini documentary. Every June 24th, Cusco stages the Festival of the Sun that honors the Inca God Inti. The elaborate procession of hundreds of actors in traditional dress begins at Qorikancha and continues through city street until the cultural grand finale in the fortress of Sacsayhuaman. It's a cultural spectacle enjoyed by thousands of locals and travellers from all over the world. Like Carnival in Brazil or the Day of the Dead in Mexico, this is a world renowned festival unlike any other, which anybody can witness in Cusco, Peru.
