Ranking Every Horror Book I’ve Read in 2026 (By Horror Subgenre)

It's time to rank every horror book I've read so far this year! Instead of throwing all 10 books into one giant list, I'm breaking them down by horror subgenre: creepy houses, social horror, maybe it's cannibals, body horror, and survival horror. In each category, I'll rank the books I've read, share a bonus recommendation for horror fans, and spotlight a book from my TBR that I'm hoping to get to soon. No matter your taste- haunted houses, unsettling social commentary, grotesque body horror, stories that make you question what's for dinner, or characters fighting to survive impossible situations, there's something for every horror reader! Let me know in the comments: 🖤 What's the best horror book you've read this year? 🖤 Which horror subgenre is your favorite? 🖤 What horror book should I add to my TBR next?
