CBS Reports presents "Speaking Frankly: Child Marriage" | Full Documentary
In 2018, Delaware and New Jersey became the first states to ban marriage under the age of 18 without exception. But in the rest of the country, there are legal processes allowing children to get married. Advocates are working hard to change the laws, citing statistics that minors who marry are significantly more likely to suffer from poverty, abuse and health issues throughout their lives. But these advocates are running into some surprising opposition – on both sides of the political spectrum. CBS Reports is our premium documentary series that is sure to challenge your views on this and a variety of other issues. See our full series library at http://cbsnews.com/cbs-reports.
