Massed Pipes and Drums parade during the 2019 Braemar Gathering led by Drum Major Roland Stuart

Drum Major Roland Stuart leads the massed pipes and drums as they arrive for the midday parade around the Braemar Gathering Highland Games on 7th September 2019. As they pass the Royal box, Roland Stuart salutes Captain Alwyne Farquharson of Invercauld MC, the local Chieftain, who is present before the arrival of Her Majesty the Queen and members of the Royal family. Led by the Drum Majors, bands were Huntly & District, Fraserburgh RBL, Lower Clyde, Gordonstoun School, Inverurie, Perth & District, Blairgowrie, Ballater & District, Lonach, KIntore, Ellon & District RBL and RAF Central Scotland Pipes & Drums. Her Majesty is patron of the Highland games event, which are held at The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park, a short distance from the royals' summer residence Balmoral. The Games have been run in its present form since 1832, and the always held on the first Saturday of September.
