How To Rebuild and Repair 2000-2006 Honda Insight 5 Speed Transmission - Modify Synchronyzers

This is a how to tutorial on rebuilding and repairing a 2000-2006 Honda Insight 5 speed transmission. I will show you how to modify the synchronizers so the transmission will never have the 2nd or 1st gear downshift grind. I will also show you how to replace the input shaft bearing (ISB) which is another common failure in these transmissions. The parts list I used are: TIMKEN SL260154: https://amzn.to/3X7CsO5 NATIONAL 710315: https://amzn.to/3X4DJFo NATIONAL 710630: https://amzn.to/4bBXYP3 91002PHR013: https://amzn.to/3yDkY1I Thankfully, it doesn't require many "specialty" tools. Tools you might need that you don't already have are below, but otherwise, a pretty general took kit should work: Channellock snap ring pliers: https://amzn.to/4dHQAWC Bearing puller: https://amzn.to/4vqtv0G Dremel: https://amzn.to/4sxmvwu Please feel free to comment below if you have any questions.
