Low-Cost Storage Of Wet Distillers' Grains
Feeding wet distillers' grains, with all its economic advantages, can be a hassle. And storing it can be even more of a problem, since the product has a short shelf life of seven to 30 days, depending on the weather. However, research at the K-State Agricultural Research Center in Hays, KS shows that it is feasible to store wet distillers' grains, just as the product is delivered from the plant, in concrete bunkers with minimal shrinkage and loss to spoilage, and virtually no loss in dry matter or nutrient composition.
