What 6 Months Of Airline Flying Did To My Skills

After six months of flying regional jets for a living, I finally climbed back into my own airplane… and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Airline flying is very different from general aviation. Procedures are tighter, automation does more of the work, and you rarely hand fly the way you do in a small piston airplane. So the big question was sitting in the back of my mind the entire drive to the airport: Did flying airliners make me better… or rusty where it actually matters? In this video I give a six month update on life as an airline pilot, what surprised me the most after finishing training and getting on the line, and how the transition has changed the way I think about flying.
