The Art of BRUCE KING

Bruce King is an acclaimed post-impressionist painter and member of the Oneida Nation, born in Chicago IL, on November 2, 1950 and passed away in Santa Fe, New Mexico on November 27, 2019. A high school drop out, King turned to the United States army where he served three years, which included a stint in Vietnam. He then began his education, which includes Santa Fe Community College, University of Illinois and Northwestern University. His resume has become rather extensive. From painter to musician to director to screenwriter to playwright his talents seem to have no limitations. Along with Native American artists like T.C. Cannon, Kevin Red Star and Fritz Scholder, he has elevated Native American art from 'curio' to fine art.
