Refinishing a Vintage Waterfall Dresser Without Ruining Its Character

I found this vintage Art Deco waterfall dresser at a thrift store almost a year ago and finally decided it was time to get it done. With a failing lacquer finish, missing veneer, Sharpie scribbles, and a missing part, this dresser needed some serious attention. In this furniture refinishing makeover, I repair the damage, use toner to match different woods, and protect everything with a fresh lacquer finish. Most of the furniture I restore eventually gets donated, given away, or finds a second life. My goal is simple…keep good furniture out of the landfill and show what's possible with a little patience and effort.
