HardCorn! - Episode 256 - Continuing play in my Minecraft 1.17 survival forever world! I started playing Minecraft in the summer of 2020, and had been playing in the same survival world the whole time. So I decided in April 2021 it was time to start a new world in Hard difficulty, and I've been playing in it since and plan to continue to as long as I can. It's been over four years now, so I think this is my "forever world". I'll be streaming every session in this world, so stay tuned! I finished buying quartz blocks with all the proceeds from my produce trading last session, then converted it all to the quartz bricks and stairs I thought I'd need. It was way too many, but I'll have use for it later. For now, I will be needing to trade for quartz pillars. because I was able to finish mining out the perimeter of the cartography studio, exposing the underside of some stairs but without enough pillars to fill in beneath them. I also made a start on mining out the interior while placing temporary torches to light it up. For the future... I want to figure out what jobs to give the villagers in the Spire, perhaps dedicating each floor or inter-corridor section to a job. I want to produce many more sea lanterns to continue to light future sections of the Spire. I want to get more blaze rods to make another ender chest or two for the spire, and to make more end rods. I want to improve and secure the path through the Nether between my base portal and the Nether portal in the End portal chamber, and maybe improve the area around the one on the island next to the ocean monument and make a path there too. I plan to continue dressing the Spire Atrium. I want to add stairs up around the upper Spire to the park I plan to have up top, and get that lit up. Once the Spire Atrium is also established, I need get the second floor set up with at least some sleeping quarters. Then I can expand the facilities and let them expand with them. And of course I want to keep watching out for patrols. I want to finish mapping the western ocean. I want to go back to the Nether for more netherite, along with other goodies, and I'm thinking I may need to do more bed mining. Next time I'll just stock up on a stack each of wool and planks and make them as I go. I will continue to improve the lighting around the grounds using glowstone. And it seems prudent to get some more diamonds for a backup set of armor and tools. Lots of options for upcoming episodes! Long term... I am thinking of making the area outside the West Atrium Dome a nature park, with a bit of lighting added for safety. It will be tempting to build an ocean-side base once I'm ready to improve the safety of the village there to the west. I don't want to lose a good source of my own villagers to creepers and such. It will be tempting to build something on the far side of the spire since it's so close to the ocean. Playing Minecraft Java Edition 1.17.1 (world seeded in 1.16.5) with Sodium, Iris, and Sildurs Shaders Enhanced Default, along with a few other cosmetic and performance mods. (The main things I like about this combo are the shadows, connected glass textures so there's no grid, pretty water, and light from held sources.)
