This is the very spot that Seon Master Daehaeng designated 28 years ago as the location for a place of religious practice for the Buddhists of Mokpo. With a land area of ​​18,682 square meters and a building area of ​​1,660 square meters, five buildings will be constructed, including the Main Hall (Daeungjeon), monks' quarters, dining hall, education center, and meditation hall, spanning one basement level and two floors above ground. Approximately 3,000 Buddhists from across the country participated in the groundbreaking ceremony, which vowed to establish a Dharma propagation center to carry on the teachings of Seon Master Daehaeng's One Mind. Venerable Hyesu, Chairman of Hanmaum Seonwon, who participated in the ceremonial shoveling, urged the congregation to become the spirits of the temple grounds and create a sanctuary where the principles of One Mind can flourish.
