Chariots of Fire Overture (Vangelis Cover)

Chariots of Fire was one of my favorite movies growing up, and its overture remains one of the pieces I have carried with me for years. I still find joy in returning to it at the piano. The film has stayed with me as well. The lives and races of these remarkable athletes were shaped by ambition, prejudice, faith, and sacrifice. Each had to decide what he was willing to give and what he refused to surrender. Perhaps that is why the story feels eternally relevant. The path to victory is rarely obvious, and the race is never entirely ours to control. We learn to trust the ground beneath us, remain faithful to the work, and discover the strength required to continue. “And where does the power come from, to see the race to its end? From within.” Eric Liddell, Chariots of Fire
