Can I root and propagate Camellia branches using air layering technique? (空中压条成功生根繁殖多种茶花品系)
There have been many different ways to propagate Camellia, but I prefer to use air layering technique first to root camellia branches because it is the best and fastest way to establish a new mature bush/shrub which can produce flowers at the same year or next year. In this video I gave you some preliminary rooting results to verify that I can successfully root some species of Camellia using air layering technique. The media I frequently used in the experiment is Sphagnum moss, sometimes is regular potting soil. I used two different rooting hormones at the same time for most of the air layering soil balls, but for some soil balls I only used rooting hormone powder, but I still can successfully get roots. The rooting status is really related with Camellia species.
