There is a mysterious ruin of a Western-style house on the shore of Lake Shinryu, which is connected to the Taishaku Gorge, one of the 100 most scenic spots in Japan. This abandoned mansion can be seen on the opposite bank from the Taishaku River Dam, but it is on a cliff and there is no way to approach it from the dam.
