thermoelectric chiller review & mod
Coleman Powerchill Cooler. 12 volt iceless cooler. Thermoelectric coolers can "chill" to about 35 degrees below surrounding temp. This video shows a DIY mod & use that does not change that but attempts to improve the cooler by increasing air flow. Imo if your room temp is over 75F - 80F thermoelectric coolers are simply inefficient and/or use to much power. Note: used mostly off grid at camp for a couple days in a row, avoids having to buy ice, no soggy foods or extra plastic trash. Properly packed you can fit enough into the cooler without ice taking up room. And my solar system can recoup used amp hours. Once a true 12v fridge (marine/rv) is reinstalled the chiller can still serv to transport groceries, backup-extra chiller.
