Harunobu Okuno is a self-proclaimed enthusiast of Japanese culture, MC of the popular YouTube channel "Yamada Reiji's Young Sunday," and the pinnacle of knowledge and cultural history geekdom on Chiebukuro! Murakami describes Okuno as a stellar critic of postwar Japanese cultural representation, reigning supreme in that field, and in this series we'd like to hear his opinion! This time, we'll be analyzing the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," its extremely unique theory of Japanese cultural narrative 80 years after Japan's defeat in the Pacific War. Okuno will use his unique ingenuity to cut through and explain why this work can be called a "declaration of independence for postwar Japanese culture."
