I also address the subjects of psychotherapy education, licensure, supervision (good versus bad), the expense of becoming a therapist, the possibility of becoming a therapist without school, narrowness of the mental health system, the farce of psychiatric diagnosis, and the dangers of psychiatric medication. I want to add here, though, that despite all the foolishness I went through to become a therapist, I'm glad I did it. It really gave me an unparalleled opportunity to do a type of work that I valued and from which I learned so much. I also got to participate in the lives of so many wonderful and brave people.
