Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi discussed the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran, as well as developments in the Strait of Hormuz and southern Lebanon, with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, during Araqchi's visit to Iraq. The day after the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel was signed in Washington, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz stipulated that Hezbollah must be disarmed "throughout all of Lebanon" before Israel would withdraw from southern Lebanon. On Saturday, Katz confirmed that the Israeli army had received orders to prepare for a "long-term presence" in Lebanon, threatening to use force against Iran if it obstructs the implementation of the agreement with Lebanon.
