Sapan Tirtha- Tokha

Sapan Tirtha Temple is located in Tokha, Kathmandu. The temple has been converted from a residential property to a Vaishnava shrine over the years. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Mahalaxmi. The legend of the temple states that when King Ranasinha of the Rana dynasty was traveling towards Pashupatinath, he heard a mysterious chanting in the forest and when he went to take a look, he found a hot spring with a stone statue of the goddess in the middle. He was mesmerized by the beauty of the temple and went on to construct a temple over the hot spring and dedicated it to the Hindu goddess Mahalaxmi. The temple is not heavily frequented by tourists as it is not as well-known as other sites in Kathmandu. However, Sapana Tirtha Temple is a unique place to visit and it is a good place to learn more about Hindu mythology and the rich cultural history of Nepal. It is one of the best temple in Nepal which you must visit.
