Can the Time of Redemption Be Brought Earlier?

Every day, we ask Hashem to bring closer and hasten the coming of Mashiach. But one question arises: if the time of Mashiach has already been fixed in Heaven, how can we ask for him to come earlier? A great Tzaddik answered with a moving parable: A king once decreed that his son should not eat until midnight. The child was very hungry. He cried and begged, until the king’s heart broke with compassion. Seeing this, the king’s adviser said to him: “Your Majesty, if the decree cannot be canceled, perhaps we can move the hands of the clock forward and set them to midnight…” This is exactly our prayer. Master of the world, we know that the Redemption has its time. But we are suffering, waiting, and hoping. Please, move the time forward, bring the end closer, and send us Mashiach with great mercy. May we merit to see the complete Redemption very soon, with health, joy, faith, and mercy.
