According to the Secretary General of the IKM, Abu Janda's clarification demonstrates arrogance and diverts the issue to intolerance. IKM previously reported Abu Janda for allegedly spreading hate speech based on ethnicity, religion, race, and intergroup relations (SARA). According to the reporter, Abu Janda insulted the people of West Sumatra (Sumbar) in a statement discussing intolerance. In his statement, Abu Janda said that Muslims in West Java and West Sumatra were violent. He then rhetorically admitted to being confused as to why areas ending in "ar" were full of barbarians.
