The Eating Window That Actually Works for Women Over 40 (It's Not What You Think)

In this conversation, I discuss how to fuel your day around training, why I don’t recommend fasted workouts for women, and how meal timing supports hormones, metabolism, and sleep. I explain the circadian rhythm differences between women and men, the morning cortisol peak, and why women benefit from eating within 30 minutes of waking to protect lean mass. This segment looks at protein distribution across the day, smaller regular meals, and trimming a little from dinner to support sleep hygiene. I also cover time-restricted eating - why late windows (e.g., noon to evening) don’t show benefits in the data, and why earlier windows do, plus how men and women respond differently. We touch on CGM insights and when a small pre-bed top-up may help if low nighttime glucose is waking you.
