Winnipeg Transit New Flyer D40LF 645 Bus Ride

In 1995, Calgary Transit received 41 New Flyer D40LF buses in the 7551-7591 series. In 2016, once replacements had arrived in Calgary, a group of 24 of the buses were sold to Winnipeg Transit to combat a fleet shortage which existed at the time. Winnipeg Transit maintained the Calgary Transit interior with comfortable American Seating 6466 seats, but planned to re-engine the entire group of buses with Cummins ISC engines. After the work was completed on buses 649 and 659, it was determined that the remaining 22 buses would retain their existing Detroit Diesel Series 50 engines and Allison B400R transmissions. Enjoy the trip on route 676 Bridgwater / River Road on bus 645, formerly Calgary Transit 7557. At the time of recording in June 2024, past their 29th birthdays, 18 of the buses remained in service.
