The Toughest Hike In South Africa

My wife and I have been trying to do at least 1 multi-day hike a year. These trips are a great way to spend time with friends, or make new ones, and connect on a level that is far greater than going out for drinks at a pub. Over the 2019/2020 new year, we embarked on what is claimed to be the "The Toughest Hike in South Africa" The Amatola Trail in the Eastern Cape of South Africa - and let is be said it is tough! But the toughest? Definitely the toughest we have done so far, but we have many more planned, so time will tell! Thanks to our awesome friends who joined us, some of whom had no idea what they were getting themselves into! And to the lucky couple who got engaged along the way, congratulations! Hopefully this will embed hiking into your relationship for a lifetime to come - well we are banking on it anyway. As Dan from the backpackers in Hogsback says, when you reach the end of the trail, and look back at where you started, one starts to think: "I AM BILBO BAGGINS!" A fitting feeling given that its rumoured Tolkien spent childhood holidays here, and could well have drawn inspiration from the Hobbiton like landscape. This is my first video edit, so go easy in the comments. Hopefully they will only get better!
