Painting Wet, Dark, and Cold Weather in Mouse Guard Vol. 2

In this live stream, join me as I continue working on a page from the brand new Mouse Guard Coloring Book (Volume 2) by David Petersen. I’m focusing on creating a "wet, dark, and cold" atmosphere using a mix of indigo watercolors and deep blue washes to capture the mood of a deep forest thunderstorm. What we cover in this session: Using Woomer Watercolors to build deep, dark shadows. Techniques for painting around raindrops to keep them crisp for later highlighting. Adding contrast to mushroom gills and lanterns to make them "pop" against a dark sky. Layering watercolors as a base before moving in with colored pencils and gel pens.
