Alexandru Lozanciuc talks openly about his 50 years of singing and creation on stage. Childhood memories, his beginnings and flirtation with music: he sang wherever he could - in sunflower fields or with the cows. How he ended up studying the welder's trade at college and, later, working for little money. How he received a sign from God to go, together with a good childhood friend, to study at the "Ștefan Neaga" College of Music in the capital. Next come his own songs - heavy hits that made him famous throughout the Soviet Union. Songs written on the verses of the great poets of the nation: Grigore Vieru, Dumitru Matcovschi, Simion Ghimpu. Polish, Ukrainian and gypsy blood flows through the maestro's blood. That's how the songs "La Șigani", "Haida, haida la Șigani" were born. He released over 350 songs and 15 music albums - at least that's what he remembers. The song he considers his calling card is "Lăcrămioara-n primăvară". We also talk about Valentin Nica, the "little one", as the maestro calls him, the one who came up with the proposal to perform his songs and who, later, became known to the general public. About the annoyances related to the performer Ionel Istrati and the song written for him, but sold to someone else. About the maestro's refusal to sing for the diaspora, but also about the customs and traditions of Moldovan weddings. Finally, we find out why the maestro does not have social networks and what he thinks about songs created with artificial intelligence.
