The Sport Hybrid’s powertrain takes some inspiration from the Acura NSX supercar and includes a 3.0-liter V6, a lithium-ion battery, and three electric motors that combine to produce 321 hp and 289 lb-ft of torque. That power gets delivered to all four wheels courtesy of Acura’s Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive and results in EPA-estimated mileage of 26 mpg city, 27 highway, and 27 combined. The new front end looks much better without the beak, and the interior of the MDX Sport Hybrid definitely puts the new vehicle in the luxury realm. Well-done chrome and wood-grain finishes add nice aesthetic touches, and the front seats are very comfortable and covered with nice, soft leather. Any driver will appreciate the MDX’s acceleration and handling, which exceed the expectations set by most past hybrids.
