CHECK YOUR SHOTGUN FIT

An explanation on both how to check your gun fit and the view down the rib should look. BOTH GUNS ARE EMPTY FOR FILMING. THIS IS FOR GUN FIT ONLY. Please bear in mind, that there is a lot more to gun fit, than this video shows; length of pull, cast, pitch etc..However, this is roughly the view that you want to see over the rib. This is only intended as a rough guide. Everybody is different and what works for one, doesn't mean it works for all. In this video, I try to demonstrate, the view down the rib, you will see if you were checking gun fit. The gun on the left showing roughly how to line up the mid and front(end) bead. The film isn't quite correct, as it was hard to see whilst filming. The mid bead should ideally, be a little bit closer to the end one i.e. on top of each other but you get the idea. The gun on the right, with the straw fitted, is demonstrating a technique to prove, whether you are looking straight down the rib both vertically and horizontally. If your cheek is too far over to the left or right of centre. This can also show if the gun's comb is too high or too low. If either the gun's action or top lever area is blocking it, the the comb is too low. If you can only see the top of the straw, then the comb is too high. (As a general rule) Depending on your style, it may still be ok for some.
