Rock & Rule - Angel's Great Escape

Sequence from the Rock & Rule animated feature film produced by Nelvana and released in the mid 1980s. In the story the evil Mok has abducted Angel (who he needs to complete his maniacal plot) and is holding her in a containment area. The Cindy character (sister to the Shlepper Brothers who are Mok's stooges) decides it's time for a girls-night-out as seen in this clip. Ostensibly this sequence is what's called in the film biz "laying pipe," which is another way to say it's a lot of talking heads imparting important story points. While these types of sequences can get really boring really fast, I worked exceptionally hard to make it visually interesting and used a number of tricks in the design of the shots which were executed with great aplomb by the gifted animators tasked with bringing the sequence to life.
