XPeng G6 does 10 THINGS better than Tesla.

Howard Ritchie gets the XPeng G6 to check it directly against a recent Tesla to see where this wins. XPeng is one of the most ambitious new EV brands from China, and the G6 arrives packed with advanced tech, fast charging capability, long range, and a heavily feature-driven interior. But does all of this actually translate into a better real-world driving experience than Tesla? In this XPng G6 review, we find 10 things it does better than Tesla, although there might be 10 things they do better... anyway this ...including interior quality, ride comfort, driver assistance systems, charging performance, cabin technology, app features, and overall comfort. There are some genuinely impressive strengths here. The cabin feels more premium than expected, the ride is comfort-focused and refined, and the autonomous driving system is surprisingly smooth. The charging performance is also seriously fast under the right conditions, and the tech integration feels more comprehensive than many for the money. However, not everything lands perfectly. Some UI and feature design choices feel unnecessary, bordering on gimmicky, and while the audio system is widely praised online, we didn’t find it to be a highlight of the car. Overall though, the XPeng G6 makes a strong case for itself and shows just how quickly Chinese EV manufacturers are closing the gap against the big T. If you’re researching the Xpeng G6, comparing it to Tesla, or exploring the latest electric SUV options in 2026, this review should help.
