I'm using Shimano V-brakes with S65T and S70C shoes, and they wear down a lot on rainy days. The rims are completely black. I don't think this is just a BBB issue. Rainwater mixed with road dust (basically powdered stone) gets mixed in and gets between the rim and the shoe, creating sandpaper. Incidentally, the S series is great on sunny days but ineffective in the rain. Ride slowly. The M70T3 is said to work well on rainy days, but it also has the worst rim attack lol. The reason the rim sides become rough and wear out so quickly is because of the Shimano shoes that many people are using, with some strange belief. BBB's blue shoes offer four key benefits: they don't wear down the rim side, they don't get caught on foreign objects, and they work well in both rain and dry conditions. They deserve high praise, but they haven't been highly praised.
